Board of Directors

A volunteer board of directors offers careful stewardship of the fund that is invested through The Seattle Foundation. All board members are Mercer Island residents with an interest in making our community a better place to live.


Erin Krawiec, President

Erin Krawiec moved to Mercer Island in 2001 and was a Seattleite for over 10 years before that. Erin has a B.S. degree from UCLA and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and has over 14 years of professional experience. Most recently, as an Associate Director at Navigant Consulting, Erin served as an expert witness and testified in corporate litigations on matters related to economic damages, accounting, finance, and business strategy and marketing. Before that, she founded, an online gift registry for kids and worked in various business roles in the high-tech industry. Erin was chronicled by Fortune magazine in four issues between June 1999 and March 2001 and appeared on the May 2000 cover. In 2017, Erin co-founded a women's collaborative giving organization called Pitch Your Peers Seattle ("PYP Seattle") and currently serves as the President of PYP Seattle. She is also an active volunteer and involved in the PTA and the Principal’s Advisory Council at her kids’ school. Erin enjoys interior decor, travel, yoga, and skiing.

meta lee, Grants Chair

Dr. Meta Lee moved from Hawaii to Mercer Island in 2010.  She is a graduate of UCLA Medical School and Mount Sinai Pediatric Residency Program in New York.  She completed Executive Leadership Programs for Women in Medicine, and received a Masters in Medical Education from the University of Southern California. She is a Trustee for the Washington Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Chief of Pediatrics at Valley Medical Center, and Medical Director at Valley Children's Clinic, where she is an owner, partner, and full-time practicing pediatrician. She is recognized as one of America’s Top Pediatricians and a recipient of the University of Hawaii Regent's Medal for Excellence in Teaching. She and her husband raised two daughters who graduated from Islander Middle School, Mercer Island High School, and now attend the University of Washington. She hopes to contribute to the Mercer Island community by supporting and engaging in programs that bring people together to inspire, learn, enjoy, and help one another.

Jennifer mclelLan, secretary

An Island and Northwest native, Jennifer lived on Mercer Island in her early years before moving to Bellevue and graduating from (shhhh, don’t tell anyone) Bellevue HS.  She moved back to the island 20 years ago with her family after some time living and teaching in Spokane and Wenatchee.  Jennifer and her husband, Malcolm, have 4 children, all of which have or are currently attending our MI schools.  She  is a teacher in the Business and Marketing Department at Mercer Island HS and is also the College and Career Coordinator for the district.  As a side job, Jennifer works as the Administrative Assistant to the MISD Band program.  She has been involved with the Mercer Island community as an Elder with the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church, Swim Team Co-Chair at Mercer Island Beach Club, member of Mercer Island Rotary, member of the Community of Mercer Island Public Schools, and President and/or Chairperson of various PTSAs and PTSA programs in our schools on the island.  She is a CERT volunteer for the City of Mercer Island and hopes to become more involved with all the work the city does to make Mercer Island such a wonderful community in which to live and raise children.
